Firefox 56.0.2 (latest) is opening the script (savetube and savetube+) like text file, and not appears greasemonkey pop-up to install script.
Is greasemonkey installed and enabled?
Same problem here (Firefox 57, Greasemonkey 4.0 is enabled): when clicking on the Viewtube icon just the source code is shown in the browser but Viewtube is not being installed.
From the Greasemonkey wiki: "Any server across the entire web may host user scripts. For Greasemonkey, the only requirement is that the (entire) URL ends with .user.js and that it is not served with a text/html content type. Servers supporting HTTPS are best, in order to be compatible with Greasemonkey's built in update checker."
Could the content type be the reason for the installation problem?
Where do you install the script from?
I tried to install it from your homepage. But don't worry - now I'm using Tampermonkey instead of Greasemonkey and it works. seems to be a Greasemonkey related problem. Thank's for your great work.
If "security.csp.enable" is set to "true" it breaks GM script installation from github.
Does not work without youtube scripts
Using umatrix to block scripts on ff52esr it does not work, even though I believe it used to. Thanks for helping us bypass those shitty js players.

Is this with the new YouTube design?
Yes, old one works fine.
Does the script show the missing player element message?
is there a way tp quicken up loading of videos on macos with firefox?
unfortunately on my system with firefox 45 esr both quicktime and vlc web plugin take very very long to load video when compared with windows or linux computer.
should i disable both and use html5 or is there another way?
thank you very much for your awesome support!
For VLC try "Alt" option from the second menu.
thanks, it helped, what does "ALT" stand for?
There are three ways to embed a video:
- VIDEO (HTML5)
Default is OBJECT, ALT is for EMBED.
VLC with OBJECT loads the whole video before playing it, with EMBED it doesn't.
